Mental performance is a skill. And like any skill, it can be trained.
LEAP Foundations is a five week program that teaches athletes the foundational tools to understand their minds, navigate pressure, and continue growing through sport.
What Athletes Will Learn
Over four online modules and one live workshop, athletes will build the foundational mental performance skills they can use in sport and life.
1. How the Brain Works Under Pressure
Before athletes can manage pressure, they need to understand what is happening.
Athletes will learn how the brain responds to nerves, stress, mistakes, and competition, and how awareness helps them respond instead of react.
2. Self-Talk & The TEAR Process
The way athletes talk to themselves matters. Athletes will learn the connection between thoughts, emotions, actions, and results through the LEAP TEAR framework and begin building awareness around their internal dialogue.
3. Goals & BRAVE
Strong athletes don’t just chase outcomes. They learn who they want to become through the process.
Athletes will learn how to set meaningful goals, focus on what they can control, and build courage through challenge.
4. Pre Competition Tools
How athletes prepare and reflect impacts how they perform and grow.
Athletes will learn how to prepare mentally, reset after difficult moments, and use both success and setbacks as opportunities for growth.

Why Summer?
The off-season is when athletes build. It is the time they focus on getting stronger, developing new skills, and preparing for what comes next. It is also one of the best opportunities to train the mental side of sport. Away from the pressure of constant competition, athletes have space to slow down, understand themselves, and practice the tools that support confidence, resilience, and performance.
Just like physical skills, mental skills need repetition. Summer gives athletes the opportunity to build those reps so they enter their next season with a stronger foundation.
Meet Your Coach
Hi, I’m Margaret.
I created LEAP because I believe every athlete deserves to understand one of the most important tools they have: their mind.
As a former elite athlete who represented Canada internationally, I spent years training my body. I knew how to work hard, push myself, and chase big goals. But what I didn’t understand was how to manage the pressure, nerves, self-talk, and expectations that came with competing.
Now, as a Certified Mental Performance Coach and Certified Visualization Specialist, I help athletes understand what is happening in their brains so they can build the skills to navigate the challenges that come with sport. After more than 20 years working with youth leadership and development, I know sport is about so much more than performance.
It is one of the most powerful places for athletes to build confidence, resilience, and belief in who they are becoming.
LEAP Foundations Summer 2026 Details
LEAP Foundations is designed to fit into the rhythm of summer. After registering, athletes receive access to four online mental performance modules and the LEAP Foundations digital workbook. Athletes can move through the lessons at their own pace, whether they complete one module each week or work through them more quickly when it fits their schedule.
Throughout the modules, athletes will learn, reflect, and begin applying the tools in their own training and competition environments. We will bring everything together during a live Zoom workshop on Monday, August 24th, where athletes will connect, ask questions, and continue building their mental performance skills before heading into their next season.
